Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tennessee, St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. Since Danny Thomas opened the hospital in 1962, survival rates for childhood cancers have skyrocketed from less than twenty percent to seventy percent overall. St. Jude treats children from California, across the United States and all over the world at no cost to their families.

The Junior League of San Francisco
I am active member of The Junior League of San Francisco. I was recently honored as Leader of the Year for 2006-2007. In 2006, I chaired the 12th annual Junior League of San Francisco Home Tour, Give My Regards to Broadway. Inspired by the glamour and glitz of Broadway theater, this nationally recognized tour featured six of San Francisco's finest homes on and off Broadway street in the prestigious Pacific Heights neighborhood. The tour was a smashing success, breaking all previous records and earning more than $200,000 for educational programs for underserved children in grades K-12. The tour was featured in the October 2006 issue of California Home & Design Magazine.
About the JLSF
The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Since its inception in 1911, the Junior League of San Francisco, Inc. (JLSF) has provided the community with an estimated 6 million volunteer hours and more than $22 million through direct community grants, advocacy, and membership training and development.
As a problem surfaces within the community, the JLSF is frequently the first organization to recognize and address the issue, providing volunteer energy, financial assistance and public support. Often in collaboration with other community groups and/or the public sector, the JLSF designs and launches a program, then works to achieve community impact and measurable results.
Family Service Agency of Marin
I first started working with the Family Service Agency of Marin (FSA) in 2003 through a Junior League Project. Through this project, I had the opportunity to work with FSA's Pregnancy and Early Parenting Center and the Parent Aide Program. In 2006, I joined an Advisory Board supporting FSA's 2007 Annual Fundraiser, La Dolce Vita.
This gala event will take place on the grounds of a spectacular private Marin estate on Saturday, September 15, 2007. The evening will feature Italian opera, fine wines, bocce ball, open air Fellini films and much more.
